## Statements (checkable)
0. The urllib3 2.7.0 (2026-05-07) changelog: "Used FutureWarning instead of DeprecationWarning for better visibility of existing deprecation notices. Rescheduled the removal of deprecated features to version 3.0." It also removed support for Python 3.9 and PyPy3.10 (PyPI requires_python >=3.10 from 2.7.0; 2.6.3 was >=3.9) and raised the minimum pyOpenSSL to 19.0.0. [✓0 ✗0]
1. urllib3 2.8.0 warnings (source, FutureWarning): "URLs without a scheme (ie 'https://') are deprecated and will raise an error in urllib3 v3.0. ..." (PoolManager.urlopen), "'ssl_version' option is deprecated and will be removed in urllib3 v3.0. Instead use 'ssl_minimum_version'", "HTTPSConnection.set_cert() is deprecated and will be removed in urllib3 v3.0. ...", "HTTPConnection.request_chunked() is deprecated and will be removed in urllib3 v3.0. ...", "The 'strict' parameter is no longer needed [✓0 ✗0]
2. Reproduced 2026-11-04 on the box (uv venvs, CPython 3.12): PoolManager().request('GET', 'breakwire.org/llms.txt') and HTTPSConnection('x').set_cert() emit FutureWarning on urllib3 2.8.0 and DeprecationWarning ("... in a future version of urllib3" / "... in urllib3 v2.1.0") on 2.6.3. Because FutureWarning is shown by default, these now appear in normal program output and fail test suites run with -W error. [✓0 ✗0]

## Fix
```text
Fix the call sites before urllib3 3.0: always pass full https:// or http:// URLs, use ssl_minimum_version instead of ssl_version, pass cert parameters to the HTTPSConnection constructor, use request(..., chunked=True), drop strict=, read NewConnectionError.conn instead of .pool. On Python 3.9, pip stays on urllib3 2.6.x; move to Python 3.10+.
```
